Fastxt

Fastxt is a sister project to Local Native — a decentralized, cross-platform application that saves and syncs your text in a local SQLite database without going through any centralized service.

Technical Highlights

A shared Rust core library powers native apps on iOS and iPadOS, an Android app, and a cross-platform desktop GUI (Iced) for Windows, macOS and Linux.

All data lives in local SQLite; devices sync directly with each other, so no centralized service ever sees your notes.

Native on-device AI models keep text intelligence private: Apple Foundation Models on iOS and macOS, Gemini Nano / App Functions on Android, and self-hosted LLMs (llama.cpp, Ollama) on the desktop.

Roadmap: smart auto-tagging, semantic search, summarization, and AI-generated metadata that syncs across devices via P2P.
